It is an ongoing joke in my family to call ourselves "The Griswolds" when we go on vacation. If you could have seen us all loaded up and "Clark"- (aka my dad) driving us around in the rental car during the family vacations you would understand. Justin and I decided to go camping this weekend with another couple. The boys knew we were not professional campers, so we got little campers to take along to protect us from rain, wind, and the wildlife at night. The boys explained that this is not "true" camping, but it was camping enough for these two southern girls!

All excited about the trip!
We set up on the beach-- it had a beautiful view of a lake on one side and the ocean view on the other.
Natalie and I took a few rides out on the Rhino! So much fun exploring on our own!
On Saturday we went out and did some hiking/sightseeing. Only in Alaska do you see these on the side of the road:

Although it was pretty rainy all weekend, it was a great getaway!
