Moving Into our First Home

They say that these first few months of marriage are some of the best times of your life. We enjoyed moving Justin's things in from the barracks today. Since our household goods would not be in for another day, we had to make the best of what we had for dinner our first night in the new place.

Back in Valdosta, each week Justin and I would spend Monday nights having a little "date" night.  We started a trend of getting a frozen gourmet pizza when we grocery shopped so that we could have our pizza dinner date each week. Between dance practice, fraternity events, and studying, the one night a week to get away from it all and not have to do too much in the kitchen was something we both looked forward to. We thought "what better way to spend our first dinner night in the apartment
(ironically it was a Monday) than to have a pizza dinner date night?"  So I went to the store and got paper plates, dinner, and we opened the bottle of wine to toast the beginning of our first new milestone as a married couple.

This was definitely a night and picture that will continue to make me smile. One of the funnest and simplest date nights ever... which makes it even more special.

The movers brought our household goods the next day. For me, it was like Christmas! All of my things had been boxed up and shipped to Alaska back in May (including wedding presents that I did not really get to see), so I had a huge grin on my face as the boxes were moved in and opened. The movers brought everything in the apartment and were very helpful. After they left, Justin and I sat on the floor and just stared at all the work there was to be done. While he was thinking "Oh my", my typical female mind was thinking "Let's decorate"! :)

*Please notice that the first thing to be opened by my husband was the TV box and cable cords. When he saw the TV for the first time, he couldn't wait for the movers to leave so he decided to go on and get started on the "necessities" of cable by setting it up before they left! haha
